We hold a full page for Downtown Hoboken, Uptown Hoboken, Jersey City, Weehawken. With real coordinates, a straight-line distance and directions in terms of the street grid rather than a drive time we have not measured.
Why a one-square-mile city still has neighborhoods
Hoboken is roughly a mile square and gridded, which makes people assume it is undifferentiated. It is not. The southern end around the Terminal is where the transit lands and where the weekend queues form first. Washington Street is the commercial spine. The uptown blocks north of the numbered streets are quieter and more residential, and people there eat locally rather than walk twenty blocks south.
Willow Avenue runs the length of the town, one block west of Washington, and we are on it at number 112. That is why the answer to “how do I get there” is usually “stay on Willow.”
What to order depending on how far you came
If you walked here, order whatever you like, you can come back tomorrow.
If you took the Light Rail up from Jersey City or drove in from Weehawken, it is worth making the trip count. The Whole Rotisserie Chicken Family Meal ($36.00) is the one dish that genuinely rewards planning: local organic chicken, adobo or classic, rice and beans included, 45 minutes and noon onward. And whichever direction you came from: brunch runs to 4 PM, so a late start is not a missed breakfast.
